ASA are currently recruiting for a User Researcher to join their Public Sector client based in Edinburgh.
About the Role
As a User Researcher, you’ll:
- Plan, design, and execute user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and challenges.
- Utilise various research methods, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and data analysis.
- Partner with service designers and business analysts to transform user insights into actionable strategies.
- Advocate for user needs, ensuring they remain central to project decisions.
- Collaborate with the project team to align with Digital Scotland Service Standard (DSSS) criteria and principles.
- Document and communicate research findings to guide the development of user-focused solutions.
- Support the creation of personas, user journeys, and scenarios to inform design.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated expertise in user research within digital transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Understanding of the Digital Scotland Service Standard and its use in government initiatives.
- Exceptional skills in communication and engaging with stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

- Edinburgh based with hybrid working available
- 6 month contract
- Outside IR35
