Technical Lead – AWS, Cloud & Digital Products (Public Sector)
Contract – Outside IR35
Hybrid – Edinburgh /Glasgow

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead with strong AWS development expertise to guide an agile development team within a public sector organisation. In this role, you will lead the enhancement of critical systems such as document management, archiving, and finance/HR platforms, ensuring smooth transitions from legacy systems to modern solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the development and delivery of cloud-based and on-prem document management systems.
· Guide the team to deliver well-architect solutions, aligning with engineering best practices.
· Foster an agile culture focused on continuous delivery and high-quality software.
· Lead system updates like replacing legacy Land Register Archive systems, enhancing Sasines Search Sheets, upgrading Deed Search, and improving Virus Scan solutions.
· Collaborate with Product Management and Service Design to prioritise the backlog.
· Troubleshoot issues across platforms, including AWS, ETL processes, and legacy databases.

Key Technologies:
· AWS: CDK, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Aurora/Postgres, CloudWatch/X-Ray
· Development Tools: TypeScript, JavaScript (React, Angular), Java/Node.js, HTML/CSS, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
· Processes: CI/CD, TDD, Pair Programming, Agile Delivery, Cloud Monitoring (Grafana)

Desirable Skills:
· Java Spring, Python, OpenShift, MongoDB
