Location: Forfar, Angus (hybrid workstyle)
Salary: £77,644.28 – £83,579.12 per annum (Grade: £41.08 – £44.22/hour)
Hours: Full-time
Contract Type: Temporary (approximately 3-6 months)
Are you an experienced finance leader looking for a new challenge? ASA Recruitment, on behalf of our client, invites applications for the role of Service Leader (Finance) on a temporary basis.
About the Role
As the Service Leader (Finance), you will lead and manage professional finance support services, ensuring robust financial administration and governance. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will also contribute to the organisation’s corporate governance framework and support strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide effective and visible leadership to finance services, driving transformational change and aligning services with organisational goals.
· Prepare and manage substantial revenue and capital budgets for the service (£1.5m) and the organisation (£340m).
· Ensure statutory accounts are prepared within timescales and manage external audit arrangements.
· Oversee Treasury Management, revenue and capital budget preparation, and the organisation’s VAT position.
· Lead on strategic financial planning, policy development, and provide financial advice to stakeholders.
· Promote continuous improvement, digital service delivery, and cost-effective practices.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver efficient and innovative service outcomes.

· Strong leadership and management experience with a proven ability to drive cultural and operational change.
· A background in financial administration, governance, and strategic planning.
· Expertise in managing significant budgets and implementing financial strategies.
· Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with multidisciplinary teams and provide financial advice and training.
