Hearings Support Officer

Location: Edinburgh, full time in office

Work Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Contract: 12 months

Are you an organised, proactive professional with a passion for supporting high-profile work? ASA are working alongside a large-scale public sector client who are looking to recruit a dedicated Hearings Support Officer to join their team.

About the Role

As a Hearings Support Officer, you will:

Provide administrative support to the Hearings and Witnesses Team and Shared Services Team, including managing in-boxes, drafting correspondence, and minuting meetings.
Act as the first point of contact for internal and external inquiries, ensuring all communication is trauma-informed.
Manage the Hearings and Witnesses diary, arrange appointments, and coordinate witness attendance.
Support in-person and virtual hearings, including reception duties, scheduling, and managing video conferences for participants.
Assist with planning and managing key events, including confidently making announcements during hearings.
Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining a high standard of service and compliance.
Uphold the Inquiry’s values of professionalism, integrity, and person-centred care.

You should bring:

Experience in administrative roles, including managing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, working confidently with a wide range of people and building positive relationships.
Organisational expertise, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and adapt to changing circumstances.
Professionalism and sound judgement under pressure, with strong attention to detail and accountability for outcomes.
Technical aptitude to support performance improvements and adapt systems as needed.
Flexibility to work collaboratively across the team, with formal business attire essential during hearings.
