ASA are looking for a skilled Energy Manager to oversee utility supply arrangements and drive forward energy efficiency across our the organisation. The role is an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend, on site in Edinburgh.
About the Role
As Energy Manager, you will lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption, ensure compliance with statutory and policy requirements, and support the delivery of SPS’s Net-Zero Carbon Emissions strategies. Working closely with the Sustainability & Carbon Strategy Manager, you’ll also develop and coordinate the efficient operation of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) across our estate.
Key Responsibilities
· Utility Supply Management: Manage utility supply arrangements, liaise with suppliers, and support invoice validation and processing.
· Energy Monitoring & Reporting: Forecast, monitor, and benchmark utility consumption, preparing accurate data and insights for decision-making.
· Stakeholder Guidance: Provide technical and practical advice on energy optimisation to internal and external stakeholders.
· Sustainability Initiatives: Identify, review, and implement energy initiatives that support sustainable energy use across the SPS estate.
· Project Input: Analyse design drawings and technical specifications, offering recommendations on energy efficiency measures for new builds and refurbishments.
· Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies to reduce SPS’s carbon footprint and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, such as The Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.
· BEMS Coordination: Oversee the efficient operation of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) across the SPS estate, including system controls and monitoring.
Key requirements
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
· Degree in Energy Management, Environmental Studies, or a related Engineering discipline within building services.
· Proven experience in utilities contracts and energy management in a building services environment, particularly with large-scale mechanical and electrical systems.
· Expertise in Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), including energy monitoring, sub-metering, and system controls.
Desirable Skills:
· Comprehensive knowledge of major utility supply arrangements for multi-site organisations.
· Familiarity with energy efficiency measures and strategies in large-scale facilities.
