Developer Team Lead

Are you a Developer who thrives on mentoring others and building high-performing teams?

Our Glasgow based client are looking for a Developer Team Lead to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with the possibility of being extended beyond this. The successful applicant will provide technical leadership, mentorship and delivery capability to a newly established team with pressing need to migrate to a new AWS platform in order to meet the client’s organisational reduction and modernisation objectives.

Key Requirements

The successful applicant will have experience of working with Service Orientated Architectures developed with Java and Spring Boot and be passionate about working in agile environments. They will have strong knowledge of both modern AWS and development good practice.

• Experience of working with, building, modernisation and migration of Java and Spring Boot based microservices
• Experience of working with public cloud technologies (for this role, we require AWS specifically)
• Experience of TDD and Unit-Test tooling
• Experience of acting in a position of seniority within engineering teams within Government projects to deliver/enhance public facing services
• Familiar with JavaScript and best-practice approaches
• Demonstrable experience in mentoring and conducting knowledge transfer to junior permanent in-house staff
• Experience of working with Terraform scripts (desirable)
• Experience of working with TypeScript, AuroraDB or MySQL (desirable)
• Experience with Linux based shell scripting (desirable)
• Experience with Government security control requirements (desirable)

The successful candidate will be based in the Glasgow office and may be required to travel through to the Edinburgh office on occasion. The role is Outside IR35 and have a maximum day rate of £550.
