ASA are currently recruiting for experienced Home Support Workers with full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle to support our clients in Aberdeen. Your typical day could include visiting individuals within sheltered housing facilities and working with the elderly, disabled, long-term ill and those with learning difficulties; the role is extremely varied and every day is different. Work covers all areas of Aberdeen and can include a variety of shifts.

The duties on each shift will depend on each individual care plan and requirements however some typical responsibilities may include;

• Assisting with immediate personal needs of residents such as washing, dressing and personal hygiene
• Use of moving equipment along with safe manual moving and handling
• Light domestic duties where required
• Supporting at mealtimes
• Becoming a friendly face and a companion for social activities

Great Support Workers come from lots of different background and for this position we are looking for those preferably with SVQ 2 or 3 due to medication requirements on some shifts. You must be confident in your ability while lone working and be able to prioritise your tasks and stick to a time schedule. Communication plays a huge part in this role so you must have strong listening skills and be able to communicate clearly whether it be written or verbal. A PVG certificate (update required if already held) is required for this role as well as SSSC registration within 6 months of employment.
