Are you an experienced Business Analyst with a passion for driving impactful change in the public sector?

We are looking for a talented and dynamic Business Analyst to join our team and play a key role in supporting strategic projects within a public sector client. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to contribute to projects focused on income generation, digital archiving, and physical archiving storage expansion, all aimed at shaping the future of the organisation and its services.

As a Business Analyst, you will work across various high-priority projects, partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements, map and analyse processes, identify risks, and generate innovative solutions. Your expertise will help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations, enabling successful project delivery aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to understand each business area, gather essential information, and identify business requirements, challenges, and opportunities related to people, data, processes, and systems.

Process Mapping: Capture and document the current ‘as-is’ state processes and procedures, creating detailed end-to-end process maps. Develop and propose potential ‘to-be’ state processes based on business analysis.

Process Analysis: Evaluate existing business processes for performance and efficiency, identifying root causes, inefficiencies, risks, and areas for improvement. Work across all stages of the change lifecycle, including business case and strategic options development.

Risk Identification & Gap Analysis: Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies within processes and procedures. Conduct gap analysis to pinpoint key issues affecting performance and propose solutions for improvement.

Solutions Generation: Work with IT, Estates, and subject matter experts to recommend appropriate solutions, ensuring they meet business needs and requirements. Focus on delivering solutions that are customer/user-centric.

Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct meetings, workshops, and presentations to share findings, highlight options, and communicate potential risks and impacts. Effectively communicate complex issues and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.

Project Documentation: Gather and analyse information to produce comprehensive reports, business cases, and project initiation documents to support decision-making and project implementation.

Project Management Support: Assist in the development of feasibility studies, business cases, cost modelling, and other project management tools to ensure successful project delivery.

Essential Skills:

Proven experience in business analysis within diverse projects, identifying root causes, risks, blockers, and dependencies using investigative techniques.

Experience in capturing ‘as-is’ state processes and interpreting business challenges to recommend appropriate solutions or improvements, working collaboratively with subject matter experts.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills across people, data, processes, and systems, taking an end-to-end approach to solution generation and implementation review.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in an easily understandable manner to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.

Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver results to deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of archiving processes (physical and digital) within public sector or related industries.

Experience in applying a service design approach to process improvement and transformation initiatives.

BPSS clearance will be required for the successful candidate.

If you are an experienced business analyst with a passion for process improvement and driving strategic change, we would love to hear from you.
