Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for your next contract role in Edinburgh?

Our high profile public sector client is looking for a Management Accountant for an initial 5 month contract.

You will maintain management accounts for one of the key business areas within the organisation and provide generalist financial reporting and advice to senior managers.

Responsibilities:

· Budget, forecast and ensure accurate management accounts are prepared to enable informed budget holder decision making
· Compile budgets for own area of responsibility in conjunction with the annual and 5-year financial plan
· Act as the main Financial Advisor by providing financial advice
· Guide and advise budget holders on the management of resources
· Analyse financial data
· Prepare business cases

Requirements:

· Strong management accounting skills
· Ideally qualified accountant or with proven experience in working in a financial setting
· Ability to translate complex financial issues into non-financial terms
· Facilitation, influencing and negotiating skills
· High level of IT literacy with knowledge of varied financial systems and MS Office packages
· Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
