Description

Our client in Aberdeen are looking to recruit a Project Specialist on a temporary placement until March 2020. The postholder will work within the Animal Feed Project as part of the overall Regulatory Strategy programme. The primary function will be to work alongside the Project Lead, providing additional support for projects including the implementation of a new delivery model following an options analysis process, sampling programme, legislative requirements, Feed database and IT considerations

They typical working week will be 37 hours ( Monday – Friday ) with a rate paid pro rata of a £29,759 PAYE annual salary along with holiday accrual

Specific duties of the role:

* Prepare Ministerial submissions, briefings, impact assessments, consultations, and guidance material
* Act as liaison between the relevant branches including Enforcement Delivery, Policy and Scottish Government legal representatives
* Draft documents, correspondence and other written material as required
* Contribute to external stakeholder consultation and enquiries

Requirements of the postholder:

* The ability to understand an analyse and reconcile financial outputs including interrogating reports and checking the accuracy of system interfaces
* A high degree of numeracy and accuracy with a strong attention to detail, an ability to solve problems with excellent administrative skills
* Highly effective time management and organisational skills and experience of delivering accurate outcomes whilst working to tight deadlines with a strong customer service focus
* Proven communication and interpersonal skills – ability to work as part of a team, as well as demonstrating confidence and tact relating to ‘customers’ at all levels
* Proven organisational skills with a key expectation of managing workload priorities whilst meeting agreed deadlines and dealing with urgent matters as they arise
* Knowledge of Government financial rules, practices and principles
* Experience of using IT appropriately to create, store and manage corporate information
* Experience with IT software packages particularly Excel specifically interrogating spread sheets for reporting purposes
* Knowledge / use of finance and procurement systems

* Ability to engage confidently with a range of people, including proven ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders

* Strong research and evidence analysis skills

Desirable competencies:

* Experience and a relevant qualification in Project Management
* Knowledge and experience of working in a strategy, policy or regulatory role
