Full Stack JAVA Developer

Description

Our public sector client is currently looking for an experienced Full Stack JAVA Developer to join their team in Edinburgh. The contract will start in mid October and run until the end of December 2019.

As a Java developer, the successful candidate would be expected to provide a software development and consultancy to design, build, deploy and document software solutions modernising and supporting COPFS case management systems.
The successful candidate would also be expected to enhance the internal application that aims to transform the way in which COPFS carries out its business and administration processes.

This includes:
* Provide support and enhance Corporate Apps, an internal application that aims to transform the way in which COPFS carries out its business and administration processes, using Java Spring, Angular.js.
* Provide ongoing support for COPFS Case Management Systems (including miscellaneous java based systems that support the core case Management) using Java JSP/JSTL.
* Create and manage build pipelines for the java based applications, manage code repository migration and maintain implement development best practices on miscellaneous Case Management Systems.

Essential Skills:
* Java EE Technologies, Servlets, JSPS (Java server pages), JSTL (Java standard template library), Experience of agile methodologies, Understanding of key industry skills and best practices.
* Spring/Hibernate/JPA, Spring Rest API, Angular.js , Node, JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, Maven, Unix, Oracle 11g.
* Webservers Installation and Config:Wildfly Jboss Tomcat, Apache, UML, Unit Testing, Junit, Java XML, XSLT.

Desirable Skills:
* Previous experience working in the public sector.
* Previous experience working in the criminal justice system.
* Knowledge of work flow and business processes in the criminal justice system.
* Any additional experience of .NET. VB6.

Please note this role requires a Enhanced Disclosure and core hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
