ASA are currently working with a large public sector client who are looking to hire a Full Stack on an initial 6 month contract
This excellent opportunity will allow you to provide direction and technical expertise to the organisation understanding and successful handover of a highly secure cloud based service from our delivery partner. You will define and be part of an approach that allows the organisation to adopt, manage, operate and evolve the design and build of its platform. You will work alongside and support the Product Owner, Architects and other Developers in ensuring the organisation has a fully managed, secure and successful service.
The role involves working collaboratively both within the organisation and across other government departments in Scotland and across the UK. You should have deep understanding of agile delivery methods and be comfortable challenging the status quo.
Tasks will include;
· Working across technical teams formed of supplier, contract and permanent resource
· Develop new features in a secure way in line with industry best-practices
· Provide production support and help fixing application issues
· Identifying production and non-production application defects
· Train and knowledge share with colleagues
· Looking ahead for future opportunities or blockers, and ensuring decisions by teams align with the technical direction
· Identify operational improvements and work to ensure a stable service that can be enhanced
· Anticipate and mitigate against project challenges or risks
Ideal Candidates experience in the following;
· Particular working experience with Java 8 and JavaScript
· Experience in using Spring/Spring Boot frameworks
· Working experience in building solution using React, Angular or other modern front-end and JS frameworks
· Good understanding of several server-side and back-end development frameworks (Spring, ReactJS, AngularJS)
· Experience in designing and developing RESTful microservices
· Experience writing unit and integration tests
· Experience with CI/CD, including build tools (Jenkins, Groovy/Gradle, Maven, etc)
· Server-side and back-end coding
· Programming Best Practices (i.e. Clean Code, SOLID, etc.)
· Are familiar with good continuous integration and continuous delivery principles
· Experience of microservice design patterns
