DB2 Database Administrator

Description

Our public sector client is currently looking for an experienced DB2 Database Administrator to join their team in Edinburgh. The contract is to start in October and go on for 6 months.

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator who will be able to offer DB2 LUW Production support, investigate and develop DB2 encryption and develop the role based on access provided.

Essential Skills:

* DB2 LUW (linux specifically)
* Experience of Configuring and Installing Database Instances on different Operating Systems
* DBA maintenance using replication techniques, availability and Disaster Recovery
* Strong experience of performing upgrades, migration and patching
* Database performance and operational troubleshooting: issues such as job failures and Index fragmentation
* Database Security including encryption and restricting the visibility of data by users, groups and roles
* Knowledge of compression and partitioning to improve performance

Desirable Skills:

* Continuous integration / deployment
* AWS

Please note this role requires a Basic Disclosure and also some travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
