ASA Recruitment’s large public sector client is recruiting for a Data Domain Engineer for an initial 6 month contract based in Edinburgh.

The organisation are in need of an SME to cover the deployment and integration of a new backup solution based on Dell / EMC products covering Avamar, DataDomain, and IDPA technology.

This is a replacement for a legacy Avamar / DataDomain solution and will see the new solution delivered into production and then deployed to all existing client systems.

Our client is working on a dual data centre VMware cross site, NSX SDN platform which will form the core of the integration work, along with virtualised systems across Linux RHEL and Windows servers.

Essential skills:

* Expert technology knowledge and experience with EMC Avamar/Data Domain and IDPA (must have)
* Highly proficient in Avamar deployment and operation setup
* Highly proficient with Data Domain Integration and IDPA reporting
* Hands on experience with DP Search, DDBoost, BoostFS, NDMP Accelerator
* Backup architecture knowledge and implementation across heterogeneous landscape
* Experience with range of client side integrations across Windows, UNIX, Databases
* Strong knowledge and experience with VMware 6.X multi-Site envs
