Description

ASA need a Technical Project Manager to join an IT Team within our clients main offices in Edinburgh.

Experience in using the latest Windows and virtualisation technologies, network technologies, and deploy leading-edge services across our clients Scotland-wide estate.

Job description:
* Assemble a project team from the shared-resource pool, then agree, document and track the deliverables assigned to the team.
* Arrange and manage the project board meetings.
* Manage the interface with all business as usual and other projects as required.
* Track of the IT project spend and escalation as appropriate.
* Act as the representative on the project team for the Head of IT, and providing regular written checkpoint report updates to maintain good communications and understanding.
* Manage the project logs – risks, actions, issues, dependencies, assumptions, questions and manage the action plans around resolving the logged items.
* Our client does not have a separate test manager / test team, so the PM is expected to manage testing and the test log.
* Take a lead in ensuring IT is seen as a positive and proactive part of the business.

Essential/ desired skills:
* The ability to effectively plan, manage and oversee more than one concurrent project.
* Be knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of IT including applications, infrastructure and data.
* The ability to run the change management aspects of the project, including process mapping, transition planning and execution and data cutover.
* The ability to deliver projects effectively, on time and within budget constraints.
* The ability to work with business leads to identify requirements and track those through development/build into testing and release.
* Be adept with Microsoft -Project and Excel
* Hold a qualification in Computer Science (or relevant Business and/or Technical discipline) and have substantial relevant experience in a commercial business and/or public service of similar size.
