Business Analyst

Description

We are looking for a Business Analyst to join a existing IT Team within our clients head office in Edinburgh. You will become part of our highly skilled technical team that develops and supports the critical infrastructure that powers our business.
You will play an integral role in a number of exciting projects, across our Scotland-wide estate.

Job description:
* Capture & document business requirements.
* For some projects, work with the procurement team to identify, score and select a suitable off-the-shelf solution. For some projects, work an outsourced development team to design, develop & test a customised solution.
* Work closely with the business users to manage the associated business process changes, including process mapping, transition planning and execution and go-live.
* Act as the representative of the business on the project team, ensuring that the business case is met throughout the project.
* Our client does not have a separate test manager / test team, the BA is expected to build the test plan and test scripts to ensure testing is targeted and adequately covers all use cases.
* Take a lead in ensuring IT is seen as a positive and proactive part of the business.

Essential/ desired skills:
* Experienced in the capture & documentation of business requirements.
* Be experienced in managing business process change.
* Be experienced in managing testing.
* Be adept with Microsoft Word and Excel.
* IT-literate, knowledgeable and experienced with systems, applications and data.
* Ideally have a qualification in a business or technical discipline.
* And substantial relevant experience in a commercial business and/or public service of similar size.
