Mechanical Fitter

Description

ASA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter for their client who are currently carrying out decommissioning services in Dundee.

Role :

To carry out daily checks and maintenance required for running all equipment within the workscope. HP & UHP Jetting units, air compressors, BA equipment, pumps and diesel driven equipment.

Responsibilities :

* Carry out regular plant and equipment visual safety regulations
* Complete defects report for any piece of equipment deemed unfit
* Carry out diesel fuelling on diesel driven equipment in conjunction with COSHH regulations
* Carry out manifesting of equipment on arrival
* Inform the supervisor when maintenance permit to work is required
* Ensure all energy sources have been isolated prior to carrying out maintenance on any moving part of plant equipment
* Carry out a visual check on team members about to commence work using high pressure or ultra high pressure water jetting equipment
* Ensure they are wearing the correct PPE required in compliance with the water jetting associations safe code of practice
* To be proactive and fully assist as part of a team in all aspects of specialist cleaning workscope
* To be proactive in the rotational duties of the crew when carrying out UHP surface preparation within the vessel

Qualifications :

* Experience with diesel machines
* Water Jetting Association Mandatory Safety Course
* Confined Space/Vessel Entry including BA
* Working at Height – Unit 2
* Mechanical apprenticeship with previous experience with fabric maintenance equipment or equivalent
* PTW Performing Authority Awareness
* Knowledge of equipment certification & compliance regulations
* NORM awareness
