Are you an experienced Finance professional with strong Accounts Payable skills, looking for your next challenge?

Our Edinburgh based client, a public sector organisation, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Administrator on a contract until 31 March 2025 with the possibility of extension. This role offers a rate of up to £15 per hour and comes with hybrid working.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of end-to-end processes, including processing invoices, handling customer inquiries, completing BACS payments, managing banking tasks, issuing remittances, calculating prompt payment data, addressing late payment reasons, processing sales invoices or credit notes and receipts, and conducting debt collection
  • Managing personal and shared office mailboxes, responding to inquiries, and escalating issues in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Utilising IT and digital skills to streamline tasks and support team objectives, including daily use of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel
  • Preparing information in accordance with SLAs, monitoring related procedures, and suggesting improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency
  • Building positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Upholding the organisation’s values and contributing to an inclusive and collaborative working environment
  • Actively contributing to team discussions, listening to and considering others’ perspectives, and helping to build supportive relationships within the team
  • Proactively providing support to team members as needed to ensure smooth operations

Essential Skills:

  • Prior experience in accounts payable is essential
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in line with team service level agreements
  • Ability to communicate complex or detailed information clearly and accurately to a diverse audience with varying needs and expectations
  • A proactive approach to understanding and addressing others needs, ensuring service are delivered to meet or exceed expectations
  • Willingness to share knowledge and skills openly, supporting team members development while remaining approachable and considerate
  • Excellent analytical abilities and sound judgement to make well-informed decisions on individual and team responsibilities.
