Security Officer

Are you a security professional who is passionate about security, customer service and making a difference?

Our Edinburgh based client is looking for multiple security officers to join them with multiple different working patterns on offer. These part time positions are offered on a contract basis from 2nd September 2024 until the end of August 2025 and vary between 18.5 hours and 27 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting and taking responsibility for security operations: patrolling, preparing security incident reports, aiding in incident investigations, and supporting action plans to mitigate risks.
• Being aware of security threats and proficient in identifying and addressing concerning behaviours from building occupants.
• Collaborating across the organisation to assist with various day and evening events.
• Reporting any suspicious behaviour according to internal escalation procedures.
• Managing public and visitor access points by searching and screening individuals and vehicles using metal arch detectors, hand-held metal detectors, x-ray baggage screening, and physical searches.
• Performing physical searches in a professional manner that respects the diverse needs of visitors and providing appropriate support as necessary, with training provided.

• Maintaining vigilance, possessing strong oral and written communication skills, and having a keen eye for detail.
• Being highly reliable and enjoying working in a team setting
• Working with empathy and fostering a culture of respect in a diverse, public-facing environment.
• Staying calm and composed when handling difficult situations and individuals.
• Utilising IT and digital skills to write reports.
