Are you an experienced Project Manager who wants to join a client undertaking exciting innovation projects?
Our Glasgow based client are looking for a Project Manager to join their team, on a contract basis until March 2025, to help to deliver projects in the public sector. You will be overseeing the core projects and will be assisting the current resources by providing additional capacity, capability and resilience where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management: Develop detailed project plans, covering scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and resources. Oversee execution, monitor progress and adjust as needed to ensure successful completion.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with internal and external stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables. Maintain regular communication for updates, feedback and managing expectations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and create response strategies. Continuously monitor and address risks to minimise their impact.
- Mentoring and Training: Mentor peers and team managers, offering guidance and feedback. Lead training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities to boost team skills in project management.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders. Maintain thorough project documentation.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and standards. Promote best practices and adherence to organisational policies.
Key Applicant Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, preferably within the public sector
- Proven experience in mentoring and developing team managers
- Strong understanding of public sector regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Background in Social Housing or Health & Social Care projects would be desirable
Please note that to be considered for this vacancy you will need to live within a commutable distance of Glasgow due to the need of attending regular face to face meetings within the region. This role is Outside IR35.
