Are you an experienced Delivery Manager who wants to join a team at an exciting time to develop and implement new features for an IT system?
Our Public Sector client is looking for a Delivery Manger to join their team to deliver complex digital projects, breaking down barriers for the team and planning and getting into the detail to make thing happen. The successful applicant will join on an initial 6 month contract (with the possibility of being extended) and will work across the Security and Platform functions and showcase their ability to follow technical conversations and support the teams in planning and prioritising accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold the Team, Product Owner and Stakeholder accountable for their commitments
- Continually work with the Team and wider delivery community to find and implement improvements
- Be accountable for the performance of the team
o Build and maintain teams, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well
o Identify obstacles and help the team to overcome them
o Focus the team on what is the most important to the delivery of products and services
o Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement of the delivery of the team
Required Applicant Competencies:
Agile and Lean Practices:
- Identify and apply the best processes or delivery methods.

Commercial Management:
- Serve as the point of contact for contracted suppliers.
- Understand internal processes within a government department.
- Manage third-party involvement in digital, data, and technology (DDaT) projects.

- Listen to and interpret the needs of technical and business stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder expectations flexibly.
- Facilitate difficult discussions with diverse senior internal and external stakeholders.
Financial Management:
- Balance cost versus value.
- Report on financial delivery.
- Monitor costs and budgets, escalating issues when necessary.
Maintaining Delivery Momentum:
- Facilitate the delivery flow of a team, managing pace and tempo.
- Address internal and external risks, issues, and dependencies.
Planning:
- Prioritise tasks based on importance and value.
- Use data to inform planning and manage dependencies.
- Remove blockers and develop plans for difficult situations.
- Ensure teams plan appropriately for their capacity.
Team dynamics and collaboration:
- Form and maintain motivated teams.
- Create an empowering work environment.
- Recognise and address issues within the team.
- Facilitate optimal team composition based on situational needs.
Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrable experience in Delivery Management within technically focused projects.
- Ability to follow technical discussions and articulate risks, issues, impediments, and dependencies to senior stakeholders.
Delivery Ceremonies:
- Experience in setting up, facilitating, and managing delivery ceremonies within a technical space.
- Proficiency in project management techniques such as Scrum and KANBAN.
