We are working with a public sector client who require a temporary Lead Technical Architect to support business critical projects. They are working to modernise their technology portfolio and require a driven self-starter, capable of solving a backlog of design activity through stakeholder engagement and the identification of best-value solutions. This role requires the delivery of enterprise-wide architectural solutions, allowing the creation of a technical platform capable of supporting current and future IT solutions.
Responsibilities
· Develop accessible target state architectures and technology recommendations that enhance the client technology platform and supports strategic goals.
· Articulate recommendations clearly to senior management
· Work with technical IT leads and colleagues to drive a program of improvement and innovation.
· Engage with staff, partners and 3rd party vendors to identify best-value solutions.
· Work with business analysts and technical IT leads to identify opportunities for re-use and/or integration of components from other sources.
· Lead the design and review processes for new solutions and services, evidencing the inclusion of “Secure by Design” in the technical designs you produce, oversee and approve
· Review and assure 3rd party digital, data and technology designs for major programmes.
· Maintain architectural assets including the design templates, catalogues and registers relating to technology solutions
· Provide guidance and authority on the development or modification of the technical platform(s)
· Identify, quantify, and mitigate risks associated with design decisions.
· Temporary membership of IT Services Architecture Review Board
To be considered for the Lead Infrastructure Architect Role you would need to have:
Experience within the public sector in Scotland is highly desirable.
This role is remote or hybrid with an option to spend time in the Edinburgh office. Some travel to other offices may be necessary.

It is anticipated that this contract will run for 13 months, with an option to extend for a possible further 6 months.
