Resource Centre Operative
Location: Dundee
Duration: Approximately 3 months
Rate: £15.40 per hour
ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit a dedicated and efficient Resource Centre Operative to assist in the day-to-day operation of our clients Stores and Logistic Services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Place orders for vehicle parts, receive materials, issue and store materials, conduct stock checks, and update the fleet management system.
2. Receive and check goods delivered to the store, ensuring accuracy against official orders and advice notes.
3. Record all deliveries and issues in the stock control system.
4. Process stock and non-stock orders for delivery following receipt of appropriate requisitions.
5. Monitor stock levels and advise the Resource Centre Coordinator when reordering is necessary.
6. Issue equipment, exchange, and replace items of stock/equipment as needed.
7. Maintain stock records, recording all receipts and issues on the computerised stock management system.
8. Assist with daily stock checks.
9. Assist with off-loading deliveries, either manually or using a Forklift Truck.
10. Maintain records and ensure all filing is completed.
11. Conduct sizing exercises for PPE and undress uniform for firefighters and new recruits.
12. Assist in returning incorrect goods to suppliers.
13. Assist in issuing PPE for repair, ensuring correct paperwork is generated, and return PPE items to the correct user upon receipt.
14. Carry out general housekeeping within the stores area.
15. Perform driving and delivery duties as required to and from stations and facilities.
16. Organise the movement of goods between Service locations using the most appropriate method, considering time, weight, and size issues.
17. Place Purchase Orders in accordance with Purchasing section guidelines, complete and process associated paperwork, and resolve any queries related to delivery or invoicing materials.
18. Liaise with suppliers to resolve any problems related to wrong deliveries of materials.
Essential Criteria:
· Previous experience working in a store’s environment.
· Confidential approach to all aspects of the post.
· Good numeracy skills, proficiency in English (both written and verbal), and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent planning and organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
· Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised.
· Current UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Criteria:
· Previous experience working in a fleet/dealership stores environment.
· City and Guild or NVQ qualification in Vehicle Parts Distribution and Supply or equivalent experience.
· Completion of a Dealer/Franchise training scheme and specific experience with Scania, MAN, Mercedes.
· Permit to use a counterbalance forklift truck.
· Experience and knowledge of a computerised fleet management/stock control systems.
