Stores & Logistics Controller

Description

ASA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Store & Logistics Controller for their renowned engineering client based in the Altens area of Aberdeen.

The role involves control of the movement of goods and manage the storage of goods within the facility. Liaising with other facilities to schedule logistical requirements of parts moving between plants and also to vendors to meet operational requirements.

Duties :

* Ensure all materials and equipment received have all required documentation and is fully recorded on the system.
* Ensure all materials and equipment dispatched include all signed documentation and fully recorded on the system.
* Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
* Prepare all work for dispatch and ensuring adequately packed for transit.
* Collect materials and equipment from vendors, customers and sub-contractors as per instruction, ensuring paperwork is controlled accordingly.
* To operate forklift and overhead crane as part of loading and off-loading of materials and equipment.
* Communicate regularly with Purchasing & Operations to advise on relevant movement or stock control issues.
* Monitor the progress of sub contracted purchase orders to ensure on time completion.
* Review and control free issue goods to ensure their are sufficient levels available
*Optimise company expenditure by efficient stock control values.
* Ensure that the stock control system is maintained and accurate

Knowledge & Experience

* Experience of working in a stores related position within an engineering facility
* Experience of working in a logistics environment
* Have a working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & QHSAS 18001
* Experienced in the use of forklift is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
