We’re looking for a talented individual to join a significant project within a prestigious institution in Edinburgh. We are seeking a Project Manager on an initial contract until the end of May 2024, inside IR35. The role is based in Edinburgh with hybrid working.
The Role:
This key position is crucial in bolstering the safety and efficiency of digital access systems within a prominent academic institution. Primarily, it involves strengthening security measures by implementing Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for vital services, notably for a leading digital platform. Additionally, the role requires strategic planning and development for modernising the institution’s user identity and access management system. In essence, this position concentrates on fortifying digital security and enhancing access management practices across various services within the institution.
Responsibilities:
· Overseeing project management
· Collaborating on progress reports and liaison with project sponsors
· Gathering stakeholder requirements with business analysts
· Managing technology staff and ensuring task completion within the project team
· Handling communication and stakeholders
· Reporting project progress to senior management
· Maintaining project and resource information in specified tools
· Holding a visible position demanding strong leadership qualities, given the institution’s structure.
Requirements:
· Experience in delivering information security projects related to identity and access management/MFA
· Extensive experience as a specialist Project Manager in transformative projects
· Proven experience in business case development
· Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., APMP, Prince2, or agile certification)
· Successful track record in project/change delivery
· Proficiency in industry-standard Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies
· Ability to develop and maintain successful project plans and manage resources effectively
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Proactive with strong initiative and judgment
· Strong focus on user needs
· Effective time management and prioritisation skills
· Financial acumen to manage and interpret budget information
Desirable Skills:
· Experience in leading agile software development projects
· Management of software procurement projects in relevant sectors
· Experience in programme management or project delivery within a programme structure
· Knowledge and experience in ITIL based service management
· Proficient use of standard business analysis tools and techniques
· Demonstrable business analysis experience in an IT systems environment
· Familiarity with agile business analysis techniques and relevant qualifications
· Basic understanding of User Experience (UX) best practices
