Solution Architect

Description

Are you an experienced Solutions Architect looking for a new challenge? We are seeking two individuals to join a growing team with our client organisation, a prominent public body in Scotland that is undergoing a digital transformation. The role can be based in either Glasgow or Dundee with a hybrid working model, typically 1-2 days per week. The role is a contract position and falls outside of IR35.

The Role:
As a Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the team. It involves collaborating with various project groups to identify technical requirements and design appropriate solutions. As the in-house technical authority, you will provide essential leadership and ensuring that technical solutions remain compliant with standards and security protocols.

Responsibilities:
· Collaborate within project teams to understand technical needs and design appropriate solution architectures.
· Provide technical leadership, resolve conflicts, and harmonise requirements among peers and senior stakeholders.
· Identify and articulate issues in accessible, non-technical language for broad comprehension.
· Contribute to the development of architectural strategies that shape the organisation’s technical direction.
· Provide technical assurance for governance activities and compliance with standards.
· Analyse and recommend appropriate technology approaches.
· Ensure solutions align with the technical landscape and established standards.
· Collaborate with cyber security colleagues for security-focused architectural design.
· Review and recommend external supplier proposals aligned with organisational objectives.

Requirements:
· Showcase a robust technical background and a strong architectural mindset, coupled with extensive experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
· Exhibit experience, skills, and personal qualities that enable effective, self-directed work within a dynamic and uncertain environment with shifting priorities.
· Demonstrate the ability to navigate conflicting requirements and interests, facilitating consensus through well-justified architectural design decisions.
· Display experience leading teams in a technical capacity, exemplifying a diverse set of leadership attributes.

Package on Offer:
· Contract position until end of March 2024.
· Outside of IR35.
