The role is being offered as an initial 6-month contract with the option to extend, and is outside of IR35.

The Role:
The role is for an experienced Pega Systems Architect / Developer who can assist with the ongoing modernisation of the public body, with the aim of accelerating their business processes, particularly in the context of their Case Management System (CMS). The role can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities:

· Focus on addressing technical debt and simplifying application processes to optimize system performance.
· Contribute to plans for migrating Transfer of Part (TP) casework to the CMS for streamlined management.
· Participate in the migration of LR systems and products from on-premises to cloud environments, ensuring scalability and resilience.
· Investigate the feasibility of migrating First Registration (FR) casework into the CMS, expanding its capabilities.
· Improve data reporting generated by CMS to support the Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) team in data-driven decision-making.
· Create CMS products aligned with non-functional software requirements, including accessibility, security, performance, quality, maintainability, reusability, and Pega best practices.
· Oversee the packaging and deployment of CMS products, adhering to documented release processes and standards.
· Implement collaborative development practices, such as pair programming and mobbing techniques, during programming, code reviews, and requirements analysis.

Requirements:
· Hold a Pega Certified Systems Architect (PCSA) certification with substantial commercial experience in Pega 8.3.
· Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, comprehend context, and prioritize value-driven solutions.
· Exhibit proficiency in Pega “built-on” technologies, including Java, JavaScript, JSON, and JSP.
· Be familiar with version control systems, such as GitLab, to manage code efficiently.
· Embrace human-centred and research-driven design practices, ensuring inclusivity in design processes.
· Have experience in automated testing with Cypress, enhancing software quality and reliability.
· Demonstrate a track record of introducing or improving processes within development environments.
· Show expertise in data migration within Pega using an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) model, ensuring seamless data transitions.

Package on Offer:
· Initial 6-month contract with option to extend.
· Outside IR35.
