Description

ASA are currently seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer on an initial 6 month contract to be part of developing solutions for a new division within a large scale public sector body based in the Scottish Central belt.

This is an interim position Outside of IR35

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Role:

  • Initially, this role will focus on defining, managing and receiving a handover from the current supplier company.
  • From then on, you will look to Maintain an understanding of the current and evolving IT Landscape and identify potential improvements now and longer-term.
  • Ensure the measurement of infrastructure service against SLAs and assist with fault resolution and maintain relationships with, manage and support third parties in providing infrastructure services.
  • Maintain, Monitor and support the Infrastructure environment.
  • Provide governance over infrastructure cost optimisation and performance efficiencies
  • Act as technical liaison between operations teams, engineers and architects

Essential Criteria for suitable candidates:

  • AWS Certified or demonstrable AWS cloud engineer experience of a year or more.
  • Excellent Linux/Unix system administration skills with a bias towards RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 7 and CentOS;
  • In-depth Infrastructure as Code experience for automation and configuration management
  • Experience of standards, architectures and best practices for architecture, network and systems security and service availability
  • Time and people management skills that would allow the successful candidate to work in partnership with a range of different teams and colleagues to promote best working practices and new ideas surrounding Workforce, Budget and technology road-maps
  • Experience of similar roles in the Public sector would be advantageous
