Description

Are you an experienced and motivated Infrastructure Cloud Architect looking for a new challenge? Look no further as there is a fantastic opportunity with our partner, a prominent public body in Scotland. They are seeking to further expand their technology team with the addition of this role, so as to be in line with the best standards of cloud solutions. The role can be based in either Glasgow or Dundee on a hybrid basis. It is being offered as an initial contract until the end of March 2024, and is outside of IR35.

The Role:
The public body is seeking an Infrastructure Cloud Architect to further expand on and improve their Solutions Architecture team. The full list of responsibilities and requirements are outlined below, with the key focus being experience and strong knowledge of implementing cloud solutions, preferably using the AWS platform.

Responsibilities:
· Develop Cloud-Centric Solutions: Craft effective cloud-based solutions supporting advanced service design, underscoring the organisation’s dedication to harnessing cloud technology.
· Collaborative Aptitude: Engage in collaboration and exert influence across a spectrum of experts from various domains, fostering teamwork and clear communication.
· Presentation Proficiency: Eloquently convey intricate designs and solutions, especially at a high level, to stakeholders and decision-makers.
· Security Emphasis: Collaborate closely with security counterparts to outline solution architectures that prioritise attributes like high availability, resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance. In the realm of cloud, security considerations are paramount.
· Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with a diverse array of suppliers to cherry-pick and optimise the value of state-of-the-art technology, aligning seamlessly with current policies and principles. This entails the assessment and selection of technology partners and solutions.
· External Interaction: Forge external networks and collaborative relationships with professionals, serving as an ambassador for the organisation during exchanges with cloud architecture experts who share common interests.
· Cloud Platform Mastery: Proficiently leverage public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure for hosting and empowering line-of-business applications and services. Strong working knowledge of these platforms is essential.

Requirements:
· Strong experience and skills in implementing cloud solutions, with a preference for expertise in AWS Cloud.
· Demonstrated ability to design cloud-based solutions and networks.
· Excellent collaboration and communication skills, essential for working across diverse teams and stakeholders.
· Adept at presenting complex technical concepts at a high level.
· Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience in designing secure cloud architectures.
· Familiarity with vendor management and the ability to select and integrate cutting-edge technology solutions.
· Public cloud platform expertise, particularly in AWS and Azure.

Package on Offer:
· Initial contract until end of March 2024.
· Hybrid working (typically 1 or 2 days in office) in either Glasgow or Dundee.
· Contract is outside IR35.
