Are you an experienced Finance Officer?

ASA Recruitment are looking to source an experienced Finance Officer to support a large Scottish public sector inquiry. This long term contract role is suitable for candidates based in the Edinburgh area, to work on a hybrid basis.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Take responsibility for the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations, managing workload and priorities to ensure that the 10-day payment performance target is met and a high-quality service is delivered to internal and external customers
• Provide finance support for the Inquiry including creating purchase orders, processing payments, registering new suppliers, day-to-day management of petty cash and travel expenses, preparing journal entries, challenging coding and supporting evidence where required, pursuing general procurement of goods and services
• Oversee the finance mailbox, preparing clear and concise draft responses to queries received, managing the mailbox to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, allocating tasks as required, liaising with staff across the team and wider Inquiry, to provide support whenever necessary
• Identify and resolve issues, managing relationships with internal and external customers, and employing judgement and financial knowledge and experience to identify errors and recommend solutions

So, what are we looking for?

• Proven experience and knowledge within a finance background
• Ability to manage a high volume of financial tasks including invoices and general payments
• Excellent administrative, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and plan workload in a fast- paced environment to meet deadlines effectively
