Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Web Migration Project Manager to join our client in the higher education sector.

They are currently undertaking a project to migrate 150 centrally supported websites to a new web publishing platform and as such seek someone with strong experience in this area.

The role is a part time (2 days per week) based at their office in central Edinburgh.

The contract is for an initial 10 months with the option to extend further and is inside IR35.

The Role:
The aim of this role is to manage a complex migration project where you will coordinate with experts to facilitate a smooth transition to the new web publishing platform. Additional responsibilities can be found below. Key requirements are that ideally you will have strong experience of a similar project and be familiar with the relevant tools and systems for such a migration.

Responsibilities:
· Spearhead the management of a project aimed at migrating a substantial number of centrally supported websites to a modern web publishing platform.
· Assume overall responsibility for the successful execution of the migration project, ensuring its effectiveness and outcomes.
· Work closely with a dedicated project unit comprising experts in content design, web development, and communication.
· Strive to achieve a seamless transition for website owners and the service team during the migration process.
· Play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of the new Web Publishing Platform within the organisation.
· Foster collaboration with colleagues across various departments to advocate for efficient content design and publication practices.

Requirements:
* Possess a relevant degree or equivalent formal training, along with at least 2 years of practical experience in roles of a similar nature.
* Develop and maintain project plans, utilising tools like Microsoft Project or equivalents, to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
* Estimate, identify, secure, and oversee project resources to ensure projects adhere to allocated budgets, established standards, and agreed-upon milestones.
* Proficiently employ standard business analysis tools and techniques to facilitate communication between IT and business personnel.
* Familiarity with industry-standard Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies.
* Demonstrates a clear and rational commitment to fulfilling responsibilities in this role.
* Demonstrated experience in the successful management of large-scale, enterprise-level change programs or projects, resulting in tangible, successful outcomes.
