Description

Are you an experienced Front-End Developer looking to take on a new project? Look no further as a fantastic opportunity has been made available within a public body in Scotland. The public body is continuing its digital transformation and seeks to implement a new cloud-based system to make its operations more efficient and up to date.
The role is an initial 6-month contract with the option to extend further. The role is outside of IR35.

The Role:
This role is specifically for a Front-End Developer to join the existing team to work on the user interface and user experience of the online service. This ensures that the service is user-friendly and visually appealing. You will collaborate with the various other members of the development team to ensure that the new systems are as operationally sound and user friendly as possible.

Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with various technical teams composed of supplier, contract, and permanent staff.
· Create new features for our web applications, prioritising security in accordance with industry best practices.
· Detect discrepancies in design and user interface, both in production and non-production environments.
· Proactively assess future opportunities and potential obstacles, ensuring team decisions align with our technical direction.
· Identify ways to improve operations and maintain a stable service that can be further enhanced.
· Anticipate and address challenges or risks in project execution.
· Work closely with service designers, UX specialists, and fellow developers to turn wireframes and mock-ups into functional interfaces.

Requirements:
· Proficiency in modern JavaScript practices and front-end industry standards
· Commercial experience with technologies like React, Typescript, NodeJS, Redux, HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, and React Testing Library
· Knowledge of RESTful APIs
· Experience in writing unit and integration tests
· Familiarity with CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins) and build/package management tools
· Adherence to programming best practices such as Clean Code and SOLID principles.
· Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery principles.
· Experience with microservice design patterns.

Package on Offer:
· Up to £495 day rate DOE.
· Hybrid working with office in Glasgow.
· Initial 6-month contract and is outside of IR35.
