ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit a Hearings and Witness Support Officer to work with a large public inquiry in Scotland. This role is suitable for candidates based in the Edinburgh area.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Act as the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries to the Hearings and Witnesses Team ensuring all contact is trauma informed and person centred
• Provide information and emotional support to witnesses as required throughout their engagement with the Inquiry, demonstrating compassion and care and signposting to appropriate support organisations as required
• Managing the Hearings and Witnesses schedules, prioritising and arranging internal and external appointments and meetings, working closely with colleagues to prioritise and facilitate witness engagement
• To provide support to the Hearings and Witnesses Team, assisting with generic inbox management, drafting responses to correspondence and other administrative tasks as required and using core systems, such as eRDM, to ensure appropriate data storage in accordance with record management guidelines

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively to both colleagues and a wide range of contacts, with a trauma informed approach
• Experience of planning, organising and prioritising workloads to meet tight deadlines and the ability to work flexibly across the whole team if required
• Able to improve performance and systems by adapting skills and resources to fast changing circumstances
