Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Media Manager looking for a new opportunity in a rewarding environment?

Look no further as an exciting role has emerged with a Media Manager position close to the heart of the Scottish Government.

This role will play a key part in Scottish Government communications and as such would see you being the point of contact for figures in the media.

As such, a background in media, communications or related field may be advantageous, as well as having an interest in current affairs.

The role would see you being central to media and press management and handling as well as content creation and other campaigns.

The role is based in central Edinburgh and is operating on a hybrid basis. It is a 9-month initial contract with a possible extension.

Responsibilities:
· To act as a point of contact for the various members of press and media on behalf of key figures in the Scottish Government.
· News management and media handling, including media visits and so on.
· Campaign management and content creation.
· To communicate with the press and media using a variety of channels.
· To work closely with the various internal stakeholders and media figures to establish and grow relationships.

Requirements:
· Strong experience working in a similar role, or within a media/PR role.
· To have an understanding and active knowledge of current events, specifically politics and current legislation.
· Strong skills in people management, self-awareness and analysis.
· The ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders as well as various media figures.

Package on Offer:
· Initial 9-month contract with the option to extend further.
· Salary £35,000 per year.
