Science Technician

Description

Do you enjoy supporting learning in children? Do you have experience in admin and subject matter support? We are excited to be working with our Public Sector Client in Aberdeen AB22 to find a temporary Science Technician for 37 hours per week.

The suitable Candidate will contribute to the provision of a technical support service, to support curriculum delivery and learning and teaching activities.

What you will be doing:

• Design, produce and issue learning and teaching resources to meet curriculum needs Create systems and procedures for ordering, storing, monitoring and controlling stock ensuring best value and cost effectiveness and safe disposal in line with legal regulations
• Repair and maintain equipment, resources and apparatus
• Cash handling and monitoring assigned budgets and advising Supervisory Technician or other relevant staff on budget position in relation to requirements
• Provide guidance and training for other colleagues as required
• Departmental support as agreed with respective departmental staff
• Comply with Health and Safety arrangements in designated areas

What you need to demonstrate to be successful:

• Able to ensure that the purpose and outcomes of the job are achieved
• Able to work with others co-operatively in order to achieve customer focused results
• Safety conscious and willing to work to maintain a safe and healthy educational environment
• Competency in use of ICT
• Manual dexterity
• PVG for working with children

The proposed start date would be 21 August 2023 (start of new School Year) and would initially last until 29th September. The normal pattern of work would follow 8am to 4.30pm (Monday &Tuesday) with 8am to 3.30pm for Wednesday, Thursday & Friday).
