ASA are seeking an empowering Family Support Worker for an inspiring service working with individuals to make positive changes to both them and West Lothian’s larger community.
The successful Family Support Working will be working with an innovative initiative hosted within a Whole Family Support Service. It consists of small team of professionals undertaking a focussed approach to support families who are vulnerable to homelessness, withdrawal from education or poverty due to their complex difficulties. Families receiving the support of a Family Support Worker are likely to have experienced breakdowns in family relationships, trauma, substance exploitation, risk taking behaviour and could be finding it difficult to gain mainstream education in West Lothian.

The project advocates intervention at the earliest possibility in order to hinder any development to their circumstances. This will be carried out through face-to-face support, combined with a range of further engagement approaches.
The Family Support Worker will be required to visit families in their own homes to provide support when they need it the most. This could incorporate evenings, weekends and early mornings.
