Are you an experienced HSE Co-ordinator? We are working with our public sector client in Aberdeen and have just the job for you.

Your Opportunity

The post will provide essential resilience to deliver effective H&S support across the Company. The post holder will perform a critical role in ensuring all HSE Systems are effectively maintained and updated in line with legislative and organisational requirements. This role will play a key role in assisting with H&S issues at both the Head Office facility and coordinating H&S improvement activities for the teams working across Scotland. The H&S Coordinator will work within the Corporate Services Directorate, reporting to the HSE Manager as part of the Corporate Support Branch of the Directorate.

Responsibilities include

  • Assisting in the maintenance and development of the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System
  • Assist with incident investigations, site H&S audits and action tracking against any identified opportunities for improvements
  • Monitoring H&S training and occupational health assessments under the charge of the team
  • Act as first point of contact for H&S issues when HSE Manager is not present
  • Maintain the incident database, monitor preventative actions, trends and lessons learned
  • Assist with the development and operation of the yearly HSE plan, delivering the agreed aims and objectives of the plan
  • Maintenance of records and files as required
  • Assist in management of risk assessments and implementing controls

Requirements

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or similar)
  • Other H&S trainings / certificates are also desirable, e.g., including PAT Assessor, DSE Assessor, Fire Warden, Emergency First Aid at Work, and Incident Investigation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to work with health and safety management systems and H&S legislation
  • You must be highly proficient in both verbal and written communication to deliver effectively on H&S aspects with clear and accurate information
