We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our clients – a well known group within the healthcare industry – for a part time Cook to join them in Inverness on a permanent basis. The role is based within a purpose-built residential care home catering for 30 older people with dementia. Working 16 hours per week you will be part of a rota over 7 days but with no split shifts required and no regular evening work, working hours are mainly between 8.30 am and 5.00 pm. This is a demanding role for a cook, but there will be lots of support available along with quality training to make a success of it.

Responsibilities;
· Complying with Health and Safety requirements in the kitchen and other catering areas at all times
· Ensure all aspects of current health and hygiene legislation are adhered to
· Stock and budgetary control
· To be involved in the life of the unit and cater for special occasions such as parties and seasonal events
· Encouraging participation by service users in food preparation in line with Health and Safety guidelines
· Supervising and help train other catering staff in catering duties
· Attending and participating staff meetings and in training activities as and when required

Requirements;
· Previous catering experience
· Experience specifically in catering for older people in a care home desirable
· Working knowledge of Health & Safety current legislative requirements
· Basic computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Office and the internet
· Genuine passion for high quality home cooked food

For working 16 hours per week, the salary is pro rata of 38.50 hours.
