Software Engineer

Description

Are you a Software Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience as an application/systems developer? Do you want a new role that includes a great deal of variety, creative input, and the opportunity to work with many different technologies?

Working in a core team of Software Engineers, dealing with all aspects of software development.

Design and implement various applications for the purposes of interfacing to equipment and processing information recovered from that equipment

I am working closely with a client in Aberdeen and have just the position for you.

Key Responsibilities

• work as part of the software development team
• design solutions for acquiring data, controlling equipment, logging and analysing results
• provide support to users
• capture and document software requirements and procedures
• work at client sites (onshore and offshore) when necessary
• participate in technical reviews such as code review and document reviews

Knowledge and Experience

• Familiarity with Windows development using Visual Studio .Net (C# and/or VB) and C/C++ programming languages
• Technical background – BSc or equivalent in Computer Science or related Engineering/Scientific discipline
• Experience of Windows Forms (Winforms) applications
• Awareness of Agile software development methodologies or equivalent
• Strong knowledge and experience of software release processes
