Description

ASA are working with a public sector education body to recruit for a part time (17.5 hours per week) College Research Administrator to provide administrative support for research activities, with a particular focus on support to the Dean of Research and College Research Manager. Hybrid working role, attendance in office required at least 2 days per week. Office based in EH2 area of Edinburgh, would be suitable for candidates based in Scotland’s Central Belt. Salary will be per annum pro-rata.

In this role you would…
· Act as point of contact for the Dean of Research. Manage diaries, schedule meetings, book travel, proactively manage email traffic in shared College Research mailbox
· Liaise with the College Digital Engagement team, Research Office, Institute for Academic Development, and/or others as appropriate as part of providing support for research-related College events
· Be responsible for development and delivery of research related communications
· Distribute key research related information
· Undertake any other duties as required, as determined by Dean of Research and/or College Research Manager

What it takes to be successful…
· Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus typically at least 2 years’ work experience in a relevant role or School education to standard grade or equivalent plus typically 3 years’ relevant work experience. Relevant work experience should typically be in an office environment in a multifunctional role including financial processing and budget monitoring
· Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar software packages, including databases, email and electronic diary systems
· Have a good understanding of College and University procedures on all aspects of research related activity
· Experience of committee servicing and a good understanding of associated records management procedures
· The ability to use sound judgement, initiative, and have a proactive approach to seeking out information
