Are you experienced in Information Governance?

ASA Recruitment are working with Scotland’s largest public sector client to source an experienced Information Governance Officer to assist with an international resettlement programme. This role is suitable for candidates based in Scotland’s Central Belt.

If you started in this role today you would…

• Draft and maintain data protection and Information Governance documentation across a complex portfolio including DPIA, privacy notices to be translated as well as government data sharing agreements and more
• Establish yourself as a subject matter expert for the operational use of the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, and Information Commissioner Office’s guidance supporting another international data service
• Support the Team during discussions with Data Controllers and Data Processors (e.g. Local Authorities; COSLA; NHS/NSS etc); with a particular focus on the documentation required to legally share and process datasets and ensure this is done safely, securely and legally
• Liaising with data protection specialists and other professionals as required, including the data protection team and legal advisers of our delivery partners

So, what are we looking for?

• High level information governance experience
• Familiarity of working with the Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, or other Information Governance frameworks, the including Information Commissioner’s Office guidance
• Ability to understand and communicate in an accessible manner, which accommodates a non-expert audience, the Information Governance requirements of the Data Protection Act 2018, and GDPR
• Negotiation skills and ability to work collaboratively across institutional boundaries towards shared challenges
