Social Worker – Children and Families

ASA are currently recruiting for a Children and Families Social Worker on behalf of one of our public sector clients based in Ellon. This is a temporary position lasting up to 6 months starting immediately. Expected working hours would be 0845-1700 Monday to Friday however there is the potential to require work out with these hours in crisis situation.

Key Responsibilities;
· Working directly with children, families and other individuals
· Assessing, planning and provision of services to children in need, including those with disabilities, those who require protection or are at risk, looked after children and their families
· Application of professional interviewing techniques, information gathering and therapeutic intervention directly with children and their families
· Report writing and care plans
· Maintaining accurate records in line with records management standards
· Purchase of goods or services in accordance with financial procedures

Essential Requirements;
· BA Honours Degree in Social Work or equivalent
· SSSC Registration
· Significant experience working with children and families
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Resilience, flexibility and the ability to work purposefully under pressure
· Ability to travel – current driving licence with access to vehicle

Desired Requirements;
· Recent experience in a child care setting
· Post qualified experience in Child Protection

ASA can offer £19.70 per hour in this position, paid weekly, with additionally accrued holiday pay. We have consultants on hand to assist and support you from your day of application through the whole employment process and beyond. There is the potential for this temporary role to become permanent directly with the client.
