ASA are currently recruiting for a HR Support Officer. You will be the designated first point of contact for managers and staff in client directorates, providing guidance, advice and support in relation to all HR matter. You would start on a hybrid working model with the office based in the EH12 area of Edinburgh.
Duties include:
· Providing specialist HR advice to managers and staff at all levels on people management issues (informal and formal), including performance management, sickness absence, discipline and Fairness at Work – liaising effectively with HR People Advice & Wellbeing (PAW) Managers; HR policy colleagues and other HR managers as appropriate
· Manage the investigation and resolution of formalised employee relations issues such as discipline, Fairness at Work, performance and attendance
· Delivering procedural advice to Deciding Officers on all formal panels and thereafter drafting /issuing charge letters (includes liaising with Legal)
· Build capability in the business area by working closely with managers and staff to identify and resolve issues through early intervention
· Take ownership of the delivery of the health and wellbeing strategy at all levels of the business. Support the HR PAW Manager to improve staff wellbeing and organisational and personal resilience in business areas
· Support the Directorate’s policy work by contributing to policy reviews and ensuring policies are designed with a wellbeing focus
Essential skills, competences, relevant qualifications and previous experience required:
· HR experience as well as experience of working within a fast-paced environment
· High level of interpersonal and communication skills
· Role model early intervention and wellbeing behaviours
· High level organisational and coordination skills
Required level of Security Clearance/Background Check/Disclosure:
· Basic disclosure
