ASA are currently recruiting for an Information Analyst to work for a public sector body within its busy intelligence and analysis team. They are looking for a technical specialist who can deliver a variety of cutting-edge analytical products that meet professional standards to support the organisation to be risk-based and intelligence led. The role is for a period of 6 months with a possibility of extension. The company are based in the DD1 area of Dundee and are currently operating a hybrid working model with attendance in the office flexible.
Duties include:
· Produce analytical reports and products to agreed timescales and professional standards
· Produce high quality statistical publications which meet the needs of a wide range of users both within the Care Inspectorate and outside
· Provide advice on statistical and analytical methods and be highly skilled in a range of associated software
· Develop new and innovative approaches to turning large quantities of operational data into valuable information assets and managing those assets to deliver valuable intelligence products
· Delivers high quality intelligence products that provide advice and recommendations to decision-makers
Essential skills, competences, qualifications and previous experience required:
Experience
· Providing a professional service with a significant level of autonomy
· Using a range of analytical methods to gain insight from complex data
· Apply your coding skills to access and manipulate large volumes of data from a variety of sources as well as identifying data inconsistencies and ensuring data quality
· Experience in most of the following:
o statistical analysis and reporting
o data science
o intelligence analysis
o data management
o performance measurement and reporting
Education/Qualifications
· Educated to Degree level of above in a subject with a significant numeric component
Skills and knowledge
· Advanced data, statistical and analytical skills
· Experienced user of statistical, query and data management software for ETL and reporting purposes (e.g. SAS, SPSS, SQL, DAX, R, Python)
· Previous use of business Intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableaux, IBM I2)
· Excellent data management and manipulation skills
· Understanding of data quality issues and validation techniques
