School Catering Assistant

ASA Recruitment has an advantageous opportunity to work as a Catering Assistantin a selection of schools in the local East Dunbartonshire area.

We are partnered with a large local authority in need of cover for the school period, we’re offering a rate of £9.90 to £10.00 an hour and a work schedule perfect for any candidate who needs to take childcare into account.

About the role:
Your duties will be to undertake basic preparation of food and beverages as well as simple cooking. You will also be carrying out general kitchen and restaurant duties that include serving customers, cash handling, washing up and the setting up and cleaning of the kitchen and surrounding equipment.

Responsibilities:
· Food servicing involving basic preparation of food and beverages
· Safe use of cleaning equipment and supplies
· General cooking, kitchen and restaurant duties
· Maintaing the kitchen and adhering to health and safety regulations
· Maintaining awareness of allergens and informing customers
· Managing stock and reporting to the Catering Manager with replenishment requirements

Skills and Experience:
· Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
· Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or ordering and inventory control
· Skilled in the cooking and preparation of a variety of foods
· Communication and customer service
· Punctuality and organisation
