ASA Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts/Payroll Assistant on behalf of a successful business based in Edinburgh.
Working as part of a compact finance team your responsibilities will include:
- Creation, analysis and review of weekly client billing and profit reports and other ad-hoc related reports
- Review and improvement of all billing and related reporting processes and procedures
- Data Import and reconciliation routines
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reconciliation of payroll control accounts
- Accounting and business analysis and reporting and involvement in month end procedures
- General accounting journals
- Working closely with the Finance Manager for continual business process improvements
- Responsibility for of all aspects of a small monthly payroll
- Responsibility for management of IR35 Contractor workforce for income tax and VAT internal control purposes
- Ad hoc duties within the team to support the operation of the business
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Previous accounts experience
- A good working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
- A basic knowledge and understanding of payroll would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
