Project Manager

Description

Due to the on-going success of our client, they are looking to recruit a project manager for a contract of around 12 months into their existing construction team for a development in Edinburgh.

As the project manager you will be reporting to the construction director and contract managers, you will be responsible for delivering the construction project in Edinburgh from initial development right through to the completion handover.

Duties and responsibilities include:
* The successful delivery of a significant construction project managing a team of staff and sub-contractors
* All technical and contract management as necessary to maintain the successful delivery of projects and maintain positive working relationships (such as; assistance with tender preparation and assessment, on site planning and programming, management of the build process and quality assurance)
* Health & safety management of site activities
* Achieving positive financial performance of the construction management project within the available budgets set

Knowledge and experience required:
* You will ideally be trade or degree qualified in a construction discipline and this may be complimented by membership of a relevant professional institution
* A sound knowledge of the construction process is essential along with experience in a similar role with a contractor, fulfilling comparable duties and responsibilities as discussed above
* You should have technically capability, with proven experience with fast track projects
* You will have a strong grasp of the overall commercial aspects of the role including managing client expectations
* You will possess excellent communication skills being able to convey clear and concise information in both written and
verbal format to staff, clients and third parties alike
* You will be capable of working as a team and independently, being able to prioritise and manage your own time in line with the changing needs of the business
* You will have an eye for detail and will be fully capable of meeting client expectations to deadlines and budgets

Due to nature of the business and the project manager role in Edinburgh you will be expected to be flexible with your time and duties and a clean driving license is essential.
