Principle Resident Engineer

ASA Recruitment are looking for a full time, Principle Resident Engineer to join an exciting public sector team in Aberdeen.

The successful candidate can be from a private or public sector background and will be responsible for undertaking and managing contract supervision of major roads projects site works

The Principle Resident Engineer role comprises of:

• Carrying out project management and contract administration of road projects
• Monitoring contractors’ work to ensure they comply with contractual obligations
• Monitor contractors’ construction work and request remedial works to be carried out when necessary
• Carry out assessments and negotiations with regard to contractual claims
• Monitor expenditure on road construction projects
• Manage and mentor a team of Engineers and Inspectors
• Manage a site team and assist with the site teams professional development
• Consulting with members of the public, land owners, businesses and Elected Members

Successful candidates for the role will require:

• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent
• A proven track record of management level of delivering works contracts
• Have a demonstrable understanding of all aspects of roads/highway works contract supervision under ICC/ICE re-measurable terms of contract
• Management of contractual risk and management of quality process
• An understanding of engineering contract documentation, administration, application and law
• Excellent people management skills and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
• To be able to delivery projects and evaluate design solutions
• To be an effective communicator orally and written and be able to think independently and use innovation to solve problems
