Are you a Control and Instrumentation Principal Engineer looking for a new challenge within the energy sector?
ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit an experienced Principal Control and Instrumentation engineer for a permanent position within the ever expanding and exciting Energy Sector.
Your new role
Support Focal Point for the engineering activities of the Engineering team acting as a conduit between management and staff delegating tasks, negotiating workloads, assessing performance and reporting on developments.
Undertake engineering duties associated with design, certification and safe commissioning both on and offshore. Exercise technical authority, autonomy and professional acumen in all activities. Supervise the time of others in the team to achieve these duties.
You will be responsible for
· Support Day to Day oversight of a team of Control and Instrument Engineers associated with project scope delivery.
· Provide input and support into forward planning of resources and timely identification of changes to resource requirements to the Lead
· Checking and approval of documents and engineering design deliverables created by own discipline
· Checking and approval of requisitions for purchase of engineered items and services
· Identification of increase or reduction in scope of work and raising the necessary support documents for project control purposes
· Attendance at meetings called by Project Manager / Engineer, e.g. kick-off, Progress and Plan review meetings
· Attendance at Design Reviews such as, hazard and operability study (HAZOPs), Hazard Identification (HAZID), Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and Constructability Assessments etc.
· Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
· Maintain the required technical quality of work
· Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the MoC Process.
· Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
· Working constantly to ensure compliance with applicable Industry Codes and Standards, HSE Alerts, Statutory Instruments, Establishing order of precedence on a project-by-project basis.
· Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
What you’ll need to succeed
· BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline (Preferred)
· Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking (Mandatory)
· Demonstrable knowledge of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards
· Understanding of the application of Autodesk Design products
· Experience in carrying out on/offshore FEED and detailed design Control and Instrumentation surveys and sourcing technical understanding. (Preferred but not essential)
· Proven capability in an engineering design company / EPCC support role experience
· Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS (Preferred)
· Competent in the use of MS Office applications
· Exposure to People Management (Mandatory)
