Lead Engineer – Piping

Description

The ideal candidates will be able to undertake engineering duties associated with design, certification and safe commissioning both on and offshore. Focal point for engineering activities of the engineering team acting as a conduit between management and staff delegating tasks, negotiating workloads, assessing performance and reporting on developments. Hybrid working is available and the role will be split between either their Aberdeen or Glasgow office and home / remote working.

You will be responsible for:

• Executing engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design)
• Forward planning of resources and timely identification of changes to resource requirements to the Department Head
• Checking and approval of documents and engineering design deliverables created by own discipline
• Approval of document and deliverables created by other disciplines which have own discipline content
• Review of documents circulated by other disciplines for IDC or comment
• Review and approval of Supplier / Vendor documents
• Communication with other discipline Lead Engineers to ensure design integrity and consistency
• Attendance at meetings called by Project Manager / Engineer, e.g. kick-off meeting, progress meeting
• Attendance at Design Reviews, HAZOPs, Constructability Assessments etc
• Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations

What you’ll need to succeed

• Minimum 10 years Piping Engineering experience in delivery of piping projects
• Experience in carrying out on/offshore FEED and detailed design piping surveys and providing technical direction to Dimensional Control Surveyors
• Conversant in the following; Pressure Equipment Directive (PED), Applicable Piping Codes ASME, API, ASTM, EEMUA, BS, NACE, Autodesk products (AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, RECAP)
• Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking (Preferred)
• Right to work in the UK
• Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS M MIST
• Excellent written and spoken English
